There's No Place Like Home!

We left children's yesterday afternoon just one day short of Ramsey's 2 month birthday. Both boys slept the whole way home. At one point, Reed awoke, quickly looked over at Ramsey, smiled, then went back to sleep. He is so excited to have his little brother, or "Ram Man" as he has started calling him, at home.

The night went pretty well. I wasn't nervous because we came home with the Ramsey was fed at 12 then slept till after 4. He threw up and had trouble going back to sleep, but the nurse came today and fortunately, he gained weight! Ironically, the nurse realized that she recognized us from reading the blog!

We are very eager for everyone to meet Ramsey. If we could we'd throw a huge welcome home party, however, the hospital stressed how careful we need to be. Apparently, this is one of the worst flu and RSV seasons. It is so bad that they have folding chairs set up in the ER. They have advised us to keep Ramsey away from any children that attend daycare or school until the season is over, so it should be safer around Easter. As far as adults, anyone that has been free of illness, coughs, etc. for at least three days should be OK to visit. We hate to tell our nieces, nephews and friends children that they can't visit just yet, but that time will come soon enough and we have a lifetime of visits to look forward to.

It's so good to be home, now time to clean, unpack and cook - LOL.

  8. This story is such an amazing happy story, but it sure didn't start out that way. from being told Ramsey had no left lung and only a sliver of right lung, and would not survive the transfer to Children's Hospital.
I pray for that (Fellow) that she never ever again gives the option of dying. With the encouragement of the NICU Nurses at West Penn. Lisa and Dennis made the right choice, to do everything they could for Ramsey.
Lisa and Dennis have inspired me with their strength, trust in God, and positive outlook even in the most trying times. God be with them and their two sons.
The power of prayer does work, Miracles do happen, and we have living proof of that.
God be with all the Doctors and Nurses who are helping so many in need, especially those at Children's Hospital.
    Love To All,
    Grandma Razza

  12. I am so happy for you guys. Ramsey will be just fine at home with the positive attitude as well as the education you acquired... better than some RN's I know. He looks just like Reed and I bet he will be just as smart. I can't wait to visit but plan on waiting awhile. The flu is full blown in the Manor and I could be a carrier even though I am not sick myself. Your blog inspired so many of us and I hope you keep us posted. I know you will. See you soon.
